Long Term Planning (LTP) in SAP PP is used to simulate the future demand and supply situation in all BOM levels. The main function is to check the capacity situation, material requirement and vendor ability to provide the material in desired time.
The SAP MRP (Material Requirement Planning) is used to procure or produce the required material quantities on time for in-house purpose or for fulfilling customer demands.
Planned Independent Requirement (PIR) are used to perform Demand Management functions. MD61, MD62, MD04, MD74, MD75
